Wine Tasting! At Our Bar this Wednesday, May 18
May 16th, 2016 Wine Tasting
Join us on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 for a special tasting of Old World Aglianico wines from Mastroberardino. Aglianico is an ancient grape cultivated in southern Italy since the 7th Century B.C. It was the world’s first growth wine during Roman times. The Mastroberardino family has been producing wine in Campania for 11 generations, and is renowned for its research and preservation of viticulture from ancient Greek and Roman times. Their Aglianico wines are said to have essentially started the red-wine revolution of the Italian south. Our sommelier, Justin Chamoun, says “My favorite thing about these wines is that they are a nice change of pace for the Napa Cabernet drinker, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a really nice bottle and they are wines I feel any red wine drinker can enjoy. Sometimes, old world wines can have a little too much earth and not enough fruit, but I find these wines to be beautifully balanced and very enjoyable for most people. They age gracefully and only get better with time.” For the rest of May, we’re offering substantial discounts on bottles of these Mastroberardino wines.
